Supposed to be picked up at 0930 this morning for a session 10.00-11.30 at the squash courts. Then it was to the hotel next to the one we are in for a press conference. Unfortunately we weren't collected until 10.30 and by the time we got to the squash courts it was 11.00 so we only had about 20 minutes with the players before we had to head off to the press conference.

Suman said that they had been having difficulty getting press coverage - we know all about that. We are OK with local coverage but struggle with the national media. Uganda had the same problems but are doing well now as relationships with the media have developed and the media have seen the progress that is being made. I hope that the media over here will support VX India. One of the reporters seemed to be a bit prickly but I think it went OK and that Suman was pleased with it. We have a sport here that makes such an impact and which is different in so many ways - I can't understand why we are having such a struggle with the media.

After the press conference there was a reception where we had a surreal experience when one of the waiters started talking to us in German with the little bits he had picked up.

Afterthat Tom and I had a couple of hours downtime so I managed to get a bit of work done.

This evening we ran a coaching session again. We're basically having to play it by ear but we see steady improvement throughout the session. I have to hand it to the guys here - the progress they have made in only six months is awesome.

When all was finished we came back and had a shower - sticky as hell. Then went for tea. We are asking the maitre d' for recommendations and, boy, is he delivering! What wonderful food. Then we stayed down, sat at the bar and had a whisky. Without realising we chose an Indian whisky and I could not have been able to tell the difference. It was full of flavour and very smooth. Very impressed …

And guess what! Tomorrow we have a day off! In all the trips I've done for business this must be only the third day off. Really looking forward to it!
