Jack Brown of York University VX Club and Charlie Ford of Easi-RockIts have both been shortlisted for the Active York Sports Awards. Jack is the reigning V2 World Champion and was nominated under the Sportsman of the Year category. Charlie was runner-up in the 2014 V2 Youth World Cup in his first season in that discipline. He was nominated in the Student Sportsperson of the Year category.

We are delighted that VX players are being recognised by external bodies. VX gets no funding from anywhere. As it is only 8 years old it is not yet Sport England recognised and therefore the players and coaches and administrators have to work even harder to make progress. Starting a sport from scratch is no easy matter and there are many hurdles. We are extremely proud of ALL our participants and volunteers - they are all pioneers and trailblazers who work extremely hard to develop and grow this exciting sport.

For the moment - our congratulations go to Jack and Charlie for being shortlisted and we hope that you are successful at the Awards Evening on April 18th
